Beverly Joyce Hurley

Beverly Joyce Hurley, age 85, of Haysville, retired Haysville Public School teacher, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015. Visitation 2-8 PM Monday, Funeral Service 11 AM Tuesday, December 22, both at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca. Beverly was born May 13, 1930 in Harper County to Frank & Vivian Hughbanks. She enjoyed a lengthy teaching career after graduating from Asbury College. She and her husband Wayne found happiness in a 42 year marriage. She delighted in family, gardening and travel. She is preceded in death by her husband and a son, Rick Harlan. Survivors include her loving children, Lori Harlan (Eric), Chicago, Ron Harlan, Haysville, and Chris Hurley (Tiffany), Wichita; adored grandchildren, Sophie and Ethan Hurley; her siblings, Monroe, Galen, Roger, Harold, Tip, James and Fineas Hughbanks, Karen Smith, Sandra Kurt, and Teresa Whitney. Memorial donations may be made to Kansas Humane Society.
