Beverly Kay Bickel, 76, beloved Wife, Mother, “Memo”, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend, went to be with the Lord on October 9, 2024. Beverly was born on December 8, 1947, to Don & Maxine Cowden in Wichita, Kansas. She grew up with four sisters and two brothers and graduated from West High School in 1965. She married Chuck Bickel, the love of her life, 42 years ago on October 22,1982. Bev loved family more than anything in the world. Some of her favorite things were camping, boating and hunting with her husband. Anything with family she loved, but most importantly for her was “just everyone being together”.
Beverly passed peacefully at home leaving behind her husband, Chuck Bickel of Wichita; sons Danny, David and Marc Branstetter, Wichita; daughters Debbie DeRoulet (Hugh), Hutchinson, and Kerri Hall (Scott), West Fork, Arkansas; sisters Rita Miles and Mary Williams; brothers Kenny and Don Cowden (Kay), all of Wichita; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Don & Maxine Cowden; sons Jason and Michael Branstetter; sister Carolyn Keith and husband Jack; sister Barbara Endicott and husband Warren; brothers-in-law, Harold Miles and George Williams; sister-in-law, Sandy Cowden.
Services will be at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca, Wichita, KS, on Saturday, October 19th at 1:00 pm with a private family inurnment at Greenwood Cemetery directly afterwards. The family would like to invite everyone to join them later in the afternoon at the Keg, 130 E. Chicago, Colwich, Kansas.
