Betty Joanne (Farnsworth) Warren of Haysville, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and retired Braille Interpreter for Wichita USD 259, passed April 14, 2016 after a short illness. She was 85. Betty was born January 13th, 1931 in Centerville, Iowa. Betty and Dale, her beloved husband of 55 years, moved to Wichita in 1954 with their 3 small children after farming in Centerville, Iowa. Betty's passion with special needs children led her to spend 18 years with Wichita public schools as a Braille Interpreter, receiving honors in her field. After retirement, she enjoyed time traveling with Dale, and generally spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty is preceded in death by parents Clyde and Faye Farnsworth of Centerville Iowa; and husband, Dale Warren. Betty is survived by her 3 children, Rick (Paulette) Warren, Nick (Ann) Warren, and Barbara Sawhill; grandchildren, Tony Warren, Aaron (Mindy) Warren, Wesley (Sasha) Sawhill, Nicholas Warren, and Willis (fiancé Jessie) Sawhill; great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Christopher, Julia, Rylie, Whitney and Fisher; brother, Rex Farnsworth of Tacoma, Washington; sister-in-law, Virginia Warren of Phoenix, Arizona. To celebrate and honor her life, a memorial service will be held on Monday, April 18th 2016, 2:00PM, at Smith Mortuary - Haysville, 7031 S Broadway, Haysville, KS 67060. A visitation will be held Sunday, April 17th 2016, from 2:00PM-8:00PM, with family present from 6:00PM-8:00PM, also at Smith Mortuary – Haysville.
