Betty LaMar

Betty Lou Burt-LaMar was born December 28, 1933 in Coffeyville, Kansas and passed away May 18th, 2026 at her home. Betty and her family have been residents of Haysville, Kansas since 1966. 

Betty is preceded in death by her parents Alvin Harrison Burt 1886-1971 and Emma Leona Lee-Burt 1897-1946, her siblings Marion Alvin Burt 1915-1964, Clarence Albert Burt 1917-1955, Thelma Evangaline Burt 1921-1924, Valma Leona Burt 1923-1924, Melba Jean Burt-Johnson 1925-2010. Her husband, of 70 years, Kenneth Junior LaMar 1931-2022 and their daughter Kennie Kay LaMar-Cuningham 1955-2022.

Betty is survived by her children Cynthia Lee Campbell of Crawfordville FL, Richard Alvin LaMar (Kim) of Wichita KS, Cindy Yvonne LaMar of Haysville KS, and Tabatha Lou King of Savannah GA; her grandchildren Donita Lynn Sumner-Cervantes (Carlos) of Derby KS, Randi Nicole Harber of Haysville KS, Zackery Dean Williams (Heather) of Derby KS, Aprill Lyn Williams (Shawn) of Haysville KS, Eric James LaMar (Brittany) of Wichita KS, Kristina Collette LaMar-Floyd (Brian) of Wichita KS, Judd Isaac LaMar-Denslow of Lucas KS, and Emma Isabella (Elijah) LaMar-Denslow of Lucas KS; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Betty is a kind and loving Mother, Grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and wife. Our profound loss is Heaven’s gain. We love you and will miss you Mom and until we are reunited through our Heavenly Father forever.

Betty’s services will be at Smith Mortuary, 7031 South Broadway in Haysville, Kansas on Friday, May 22nd, 2026 at 2 PM. Betty will be laid to rest beside her husband, parents, and siblings in Sunnyside Cemetery Caney, Kansas.
