Betty Jo Jones

January 12, 1929 — November 7, 2021

Betty Jo Jones passed from this earth on Sunday, November 7th, 2021 at the age of 92.

Betty Jo always said she “grew up in the cotton patch” as a child in southern Missouri. Some of her best days were spent singing at the top of her lungs while she picked cotton.

Betty Jo accepted Christ as her Savior as a young girl, and she loved the Lord more than anything else in life.

Betty Jo Grimes was born on January 12, 1929 in Caruthersville, Missouri. She met the man that she would love for 73 years, while she was a student at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. They were married on July 22, 1948. Her years were spent alongside Norvin in ministry. Ministry took Norvin and Betty Jo to: Tennessee, Canada, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, and Kansas. They picked up many friends along the way. Betty Jo describes herself as “rich in friends”.

Betty Jo and Norvin had 6 children: Terry Lynn, Becky (Thompson), Nancy (Tunis), Paul Jones, Gracia (Burnham), and Mary Jones. Her children all agree that Betty Jo is one of the kindest women they have ever known. Betty Jo had 13 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

Throughout life, “The Joy of the Lord was her Strength”.
