Betty Barnes

Mulvane - Barnes, Betty Lou 84, went to be with her Lord, Thursday, January 5th, 2023. She was born February 12th, 1938 to Raymond and Edith (Hobson) Hoyt in Winfield, KS. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Barnes, and is survived by her children; son, Jeff (Shelly) Barnes of Mulvane, KS and daughters: Cindy Pauls of Dallas, TX and Monica (Eric) Weigandt of Wichita, KS. Grandchildren include Lacey (Jayson) Williams, Zak Pauls, Trent Pauls and Gage Weigandt. Great-Grandchildren include Jolie Williams. Betty graduated from Atlanta High School and from Emporia Teachers College with a degree in Elementary Education. She retired from the Clearwater School District after 27 years and was honored for significant contributions to the reading program for the district. Cremation with private family services at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Victory in the Valley.
