Bessie Margaret Swartz

Bessie Margaret (Buzard)Swartz, age 94 years old, died Saturday, November 12, in Derby, KS. She was born in Crawford County, KS, August 30, 1917. She moved with her family to Sharon Springs, KS, where she lived for more than 70 years. She loved flower gardening and the outside doing most anything. The whole neighborhood enjoyed her iris. Awhile after her husband’s death, she moved to Mulvane, KS, with her younger son, Harry. The last five years were in Westview Manor, Derby, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years, Jason, sister, Dollie Hendee, and a grandson. She is survived by her three children, Ralph (Lois Ann), of Derby, KS, Virginia Vrbas (Fred), of Phoenix, AZ, Harry (Carol), of Kingman, KS; a sister, Dorothy Hickman, of Spokane, WA; 8 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. At a later date, her ashes will be taken to Wallace County, KS to be placed with her husband in the Sharon Springs Cemetery. No services are pending.
