Bernard Martin Melcher

Bernard M. “Ben” Melcher, age 83, retired carpenter and owner of Melcher & Associates, passed away Friday, August 2, 2013. Visitation 1-5 PM Tuesday, August 6, Smith Mortuary 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Rosary 7 PM Tuesday, Funeral Mass 10 AM Wednesday, August 7, both at St. Michael Catholic Church, 545 E. Main, Mulvane. Interment will follow at Littleton Cemetery, Mulvane. Ben is preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Hilda Melcher; brothers, Jerry and Lawrence; and sisters, Bernita Cole and Marie Cox. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Dorothy; sons, Paul L., of Mulvane, and Bernard D., of Greenville, SC; daughters, Brenda M. Klassen (Max), of Buhler, and Marilyn A. Dall, of Mulvane; brother, Alex Melcher (Una Vey), of Udall; sister, Pauline Williams, of Wichita; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
