Ben James Mires

Ben J. Mires, age 83, retired owner and machinist, Mires Machine Shop, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021. Visitation 1-8 pm Thursday, January 7, funeral service 2 pm Friday, January 8, both at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca. Ben is preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Hester Mires; sons, Michael and Ralph; and his brother, Johnny. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Darlene; daughters, Patty Booth, Mitzie Marshall and Carol Lynn Mires-McGreevy (Susan); brother, Ron; grandchildren, Rachel, Michael and Misty; 7 great-grandchildren. A memorial has been established with the Salvation Army, 350 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.
