Ben Anderson

Ben Harvey Anderson, 61, passed away May 18, 2026 in Derby.

Ben was born July 25, 1964 in Wichita, the son of Carl Leo Anderson and Dorothy JoAnn Stotts Anderson. He graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1982. He attended Cowley County Community College and then transferred to Friends University in Wichita. He met Linda Book when they were in high school and they have remained together ever since they married 1988. Ben enjoyed playing and watching football. He played bass guitar in numerous bands here in Kansas. He and Linda had two sons, Travis and Tanner. He loved following their football careers at their respective colleges as well as attending games in general.

Ben is preceded in death by his parents, and by his brother David Anderson.

He survived by his wife of 37 plus years, Linda Anderson; sons, Travis Anderson (Melissa), Tanner Anderson (Julia); grandson, Henry Anderson; sister-in-law, Pamela Anderson, Cynthia Washburn (Mike); nephews, Greg Anderson and Jeremy Washburn.

A Celebration of Life will be 2 pm, Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby, Kansas 67037.
