Barbara Jo Jelinek

Jelinek, Barbara Jo (Childress), 70, retired schoolteacher, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2010. Funeral service 10:30am Wednesday at the Haysville United Methodist Church, 601 E. Grand Avenue. Barbara was born in Tulsa on August 6, 1940 Howard and Leona Childress. She grew up in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and graduated from Oklahoma State University. She taught elementary school in the Haysville School System. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steven Jelinek. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Leon Jelinek of Haysville; son, Phillip Jelinek of Wichita; daughters, Sharon Jelinek of Great Bend and Lisa Jelinek of Haysville; sister, Jean (Jack) Tilbury of Woodbridge, VA; nieces, Jill (Dave) Camp, Julie (Derek) Jones and Jennifer (Brian) Winters. A memorial has been established with the church. Smith Mortuary, Haysville.
