Arthur W. Sebastian

Sebastian, Arthur William, 86, passed away Sunday, September 1st, 2024. He was born May 19th, 1938 to William and Della Sebastian, in Wichita, Kansas.

Art was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He passed that love of the outdoors along to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arthur was at times a farmer, a roughneck, a race car driver, and master concrete finisher. He was at ALL times a teller of truths, tall tales and magnificent stories of shenanigans and rascality. He will be remembered as being strong, hardworking and the very best husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. His heart was as massive and as strong as his character; his love was unconditional and knew no limits. He loved fiercely, steadily and quietly and above all unconditionally, never stopping to question whether a person deserved it or not. His love, his laughter, his wisdom, his tall tales and his hugs were a haven for all who needed it. He was one of a kind and his boots can never be filled.

Preceded in death by wife, Joyce; children, Danny Sebastian, Vernon Trubey, Teresa Province; siblings, Katie, Delores, Jim, and infant brother, Jerry. He is survived by children, Lori McNamara, Wade (Daphne) Kennard; brothers, John (Kaye) Sebastian, Donald (Joann) Sebastian; granddaughter, Molly (Roger) Clough; eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Visitation with family is 4:00 to 6:00pm Sunday, September 8th, 2024 and funeral service is 10:00 am, Monday, September 9th, 2024 both at Smith Mortuary - Haysville, 7031 S. Broadway, Haysville, Kansas 67060. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
