Arleen E. Pirkey

Arleen E. Pirkey died Monday, July 11, 2022. She was born November 17, 1931 in Isabel, KS, the daughter of Ernest and Malinda Kahmeyer. Attended High School at Harper High and graduated in 1949.

Employed at International Harvester Dealer at Harper. She moved to Wichita, KS and worked at Cowie Electric and then Bulger Cadillac and Oldsmobile for 46 years. On November 16, 1952, she married H. John Pirkey. He passed away December 2007 after 55 years of marriage.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, six sisters, one brother, and by nephews and nieces.

Arleen is survived by godchildren, Cathy Klusman Bruner (Jeff), Debbie Lechner Schultz (Garth) and Melanie Allender Witte (Carl); sisters, Doris Allender (Bud), Sue Brown; sister-in-law, Harriette Kahmeyer; brother-in-law, Kenneth Larkin; and by many nieces, nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation: 5 - 7 pm Sunday at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca, Wichita. Memorial service will be 10:00 am, Monday, July 18, 2022 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 1000 W. 26th St, Wichita. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wichita.

Memorial Contributions may be made to American Heart Association or to Bethany Lutheran Church.
