Ardene Gail Swenson, age 89, retired St. Joseph Medical Center employee, passed away Monday, June 18, 2018. Prior to her medical career she was a St. Mary Catholic School teacher for many years. Visitation 1-8 pm Thursday, June 21, with family receiving friends 5-7 pm, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd. Funeral service 10 am Friday, June 22, Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, 1315 S. Rock Rd., Derby. Ardene is preceded in death by her husband, Leland; parents, Ernest and Alma Rump, daughter, Cynthia Mae; and her brother Leon Rump. Survivors include her sons, Bruce, of Derby, Mike (Melinda), of Huntsville, Alabama, Kent (Stella), of Aurora, Illinois; sisters, Carol Anderson, of Lindsborg, Yvonne Roe, of Bourbon, MO; sister-in-law, Frances Rump, of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Kevin (Laura), Erik, Kim, Aaron (Ali), Angela, Allison (Josh), Gracie (Zach), Jessica (Andrew); great-grandchildren, Magnus, Laird, Annalyn, Maxton, Ava, Zoie, Luke, Ethan, Matthew and Katie.
