Anna Grange

Anna Pearl Grange (90) of McPherson, Kansas passed away peacefully on May 26th, 2025. She was born August 25th, 1934. She was the daughter, and baby of the family, to William and Edna (Carlton) Walker.

She graduated from Sweetwater High School (TX) in 1952 and relocated to Wichita shortly after. She worked for Kresses 5 & Dime Store, Southwestern Bell, and then the Taxi Cab Co. as a driver. In time, she became the second female dispatcher in Wichita at Taxi Cab Co., and eventually worked her way to become a manager.

She was a faithful and longtime member of the Church of Christ. She was an avid fan of the Chiefs, Jayhawks, and Royals and enjoyed watching their games when she could catch them. She loved baking and cooking for family and friends when she was able to do so. Her fondness of butterflies was unparalleled.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Grange; six siblings, six children; Ricky Hitchcock, Vicki Walters, Deloris Hetzel, Donna Hetzel, David Hetzel and Dixie Hetzel, all of Wichita, Kansas; stepchild, Diana Joseph.

Survived by; daughter, Debra Turner; stepchildren, Vicky Olsen and Paula Meng; grandchildren Tarah Turner (Chris), Matthew Guerrero (Kristin), Denise Rodriguez and Carly Abbaticola (Brian); step grandchildren Marsha Martens, Heather Williams, Brad Williams and Jared Williams; eleven great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Anna's Life will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at McPherson Church of Christ, 700 E A Ave, McPherson, KS 67460. For those who are not able to attend, the service will be live streamed on the McPherson Church of Christ Youtube channel and Facebook page.
