Anna Mae (L’Ecuyer)Baba, age 92, passed away January 2, 2012. She was born February 6, 1919 on the farm in Clyde, Kansas to George and Emma L’Ecuyer. She was the youngest of nine and the last surviving child. Her childhood memories of days on the farm were among her favorites to share. In her high school years she enjoyed participating in track and spending weekend days in town with friends. She graduated from Clyde High School in 1937 and attended St. Francis School of Nursing in Wichita where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1941. Mae was dedicated to her nursing career and was especially fond of her nursing duties at Wadsworth and Leavenworth Veterans Administration Hospitals during WWII and at Boeing and the Wichita VA Hospital following the war. On July 5, 1952 Mae married Dr. Mike Baba. As a devoted wife and mother she was dedicated to making a home for her family. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, doll making and handiwork of all kinds and found pleasure in golfing and league bowling with her husband Mike. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother and supported each of her children’s interests, always putting her family first. Most of all Mae will be remembered for her kind and gentle nature. Respected by many for her acceptance of the people she met, always finding the best in everyone. She is survived by her four children, Dr. Joseph (Jae) Baba of Wichita, Debbie Epperson of Overland Park, Cheryl Baba Kellogg of Wichita, Lynelle (Greg) Pierce of Leawood; seven grandchildren whom she loved very much and loved to be with, Logan & Collin Baba, Sara & Rachel Epperson, Kara Kellogg, Amanda & Natalie Pierce and numerous nieces and nephews.
