Ann Fahnestock Fuchs

November 7, 1931 — September 20, 2017

Ann Fuchs, 85, went home to be with our Lord on Wed., Sept. 20, 2017, following her long battle with Alzheimer's. Ann was born Nov. 7, 1931 to the late Edward G. and Frances (Thurmond) Fahnestock. Ann grew up in Wichita, KS, graduating from East High, Class of “50”. She attended Kansas State University, where she was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority. Ann married William C. Fuchs, July 23, 1954, and they had 2 children, Karl and Karrie. Ann was a fun, sporty, and efficient housewife. She was dedicated to her Episcopal Church, always involved in Alter Guild, also volunteering for the Girl Scouts of America, and school PTA. She played bridge with the Tri Delt bridge club, and loved playing both golf, and tennis. For several years, Ann poured her heart into the managing of Fox Meadows Country Club. She enjoyed many years of being an involved member of the tennis organization WINS, Wichita International Net Set. Family and friends enjoyed many gatherings, parties, and visits to the Fuchs home on Beaver Lake, where Ann and Bill retired and lived until 2002. Ann was a true lover of nature and the great outdoors, from plants to animals, wildlife, birds, including many family pets. She loved life, church, family, friends, tennis, hiking, boating and entertaining. Ann is remembered as the life of the party! She lit up the room, and loved to tease with her great sense of humor. Ann was a 'go getter' who accomplished anything she set her mind to. Ann was preceded in death by her father, Edward G. Fahnestock , her mother, Frances (Thurmond), and brother Ted. She is survived by Bill, her husband of 63 years, son Karl (Carrie) of Wichita and daughter Karrie (Mike Jackson) of Mulvane, 4 grandchildren, 4 great grand children, many nieces and nephews, and friends.
