Angi is survived by her mother, Virginia; brother, Kent (Laurie); sister, Julie (David) Wilkey; uncle, Jim (Beth) Bolte, aunt Marilyn Misak, uncle, Eldon (Nikki) Misak; aunt, Nancy Misak; a loving extended family including many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great grandnephew. She is preceded in death by her father, Dean Misak; brother, Greg Misak; grandparents, Alonzo & Leota Bolte and Rudolph & Evelyn Misak.
Angi was born in Wichita, KS. December 12, 1970. She attended school at Griffenstein elementary school, Mead Middle school and graduated from West High school. She went on to college at Brown Mackie in Salina, KS with a scholarship in softball and basketball. She graduated with a business degree.
Angi worked many years in the aircraft industry. She was a sheet metal mechanic for Cessna and later for Beech Aircraft.
Growing up she played soccer and gave her all at karate. As Julie’s side kick she would play the role of “Fonzie” from Happy Days. Always holding her thumbs up and saying Heyyy. Angi was a stud athlete. Fastpitch softball was her passion but also loved the game of basketball. We watched her play center field in amazement. Her speed and on target throws were utterly fantastic. She once threw the ball from the warning track in left center field to home plate with a one hop bounce and got the runner out. This resulted in dislocating her shoulder but said “it was worth it!” She was a small girl but sooo mighty. After college she assisted coaching her niece Jessi in basketball and her grandniece Averi with softball. The name thumper was given to her playing volleyball with Julie’s family. When she would go after the volleyball and hit it she always hit the ground with a thump hence the nickname “thumper”.
Angi loved animals and nature. She never saw a stray cat, dog, bird that she didn’t help. Dillon her Rottweiler dog was her biggest love. He would lie at her side nightly. The adventures Dave and she had frog hunting late at night. Rock climbing and camping in the Colorado Mountains was a wonderful time. Even though she was scared of all bugs! The many vacations to Texas and Arkansas were always a joy for her.
The deep love she shared with her nieces and nephews will forever be in their hearts. Picking up Luke and going fishing or pulling out the guitar hero game and jamming out. Taking Jason and Jamie to grab a McDonalds or just hang out. Playing and listening to music with Nikki. The many nerf gun wars with all the kids brought so much laughter. Water balloon fights at Easter was the greatest. They all thought Aunt Angi was the coolest.
Her laughter was contagious. If she started laughing everyone was laughing. The tears would roll out and the stomachs would hurt! If you knew her then just thinking of this will always make you smile.
Angi cherished her mother and thought of her as her best friend. She loved her family and friends so much. For all that she touched the memories will forever be etched in our hearts.
A Memorial has been established with the Kansas Humane Society.
