Alvin Schibbelhute, 87, WWII Navy Veteran, passed away January 6, 2014. Alvin retired from Boeing on April 18, 1976, and returned to cattle ranching in the Flint Hills. Visitation 1-8p.m. family present 6-8p.m Thursday, Funeral 2p.m. Friday, January 10, 2014 both at Smith Mortuary in Derby. He is preceded in death by his wife, Corine, and infant daughters, Janice and Kathy. Alvin is survived by his daughter, Joyce (James) Heinicke; granddaughter, Jennifer Heinicke (Lael Ewy). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice 313 S. Market St. Wichita, KS 67202.
