ROSE HILL- Herbers, Alvin Martin, 88, loving husband and father, retired dairy farmer, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2014. Visitation 1-5 p.m. Sunday, with the family present from 3-5 p.m. at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Rosary 7 p.m. Sunday; Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Monday, both at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 123 S. 160th St., Andover, KS 67002. He was born January 26, 1926, to Herman Henry and Mary Catherine (Blasi) Herbers, the youngest of three children. He graduated from Rose Hill High School in 1944. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church for 55 years. Alvin was preceded in death by brother, Sylvester Herbers and sister, Loretta Strode. He is survived by wife, Zeneta Herbers; children, Marieta (Bill) Francis, Susan (Gene) Nemechek, Martin (Rhonda) Herbers, Patrick (Jane) Herbers, Michael (Shelly) Herbers; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Rose Hill Friends Cemetery, 14062 SW 180th St., Rose Hill, KS 67133.
