Alma Ruth Doerfler

Haysville – Doerfler, Alma Ruth, age 88, loving mother, grandmother & great-grandmother passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, KS, after a brief illness with pneumonia. A memorial service has been planned at Haysville Health Care Center, Haysville, KS, where Alma lived the last 5 years. This service will be Thursday, February 17, 2011, at 2pm. Alma was preceded in death by her parents, John & Fleeta Roberts Mayes; 1st husband, James Floyd and 2nd husband, Preston Doerfler, both of Loveland, CO; she also was Preceded by 3 grandsons, Russell Bryan, of Derby, KS, Steven Todd and Scott Floyd, both of Loveland, CO; and 12 siblings. Survivors include her 5 children, Barry Floyd of Loveland, CO, Steven Floyd of Cleveland, OH, Jamie Floyd-Bryan of Haysville, KS, Allyson Doerfler of Loveland, CO, and John Doerfler of Nashville, TN. Alma has 5 grandchildren, Andrea (Brett) Leiker of Hutchinson,KS, Alaynna (Aaron) Herring of Topeka, KS, AnnElise (Matt) Irick of Derby, KS, Shane & Tammie Stevenson of Loveland, CO, and Julie &Dustin Trader of Denton, TX. She is survived by 10 KS great-grandchildren, Ashley, Brayden, Aubrey and Brody Leiker, Riley and Abe Herring, Ben, Sam, Charlie and Henry Irick; 4 CO great-grandchildren Tia, Christian, Amelia, and Race; 2 TX great-grandchildren, Rylan and Kylee. Alma lived in Loveland, CO for 40 years and the last 10 years in Kansas with her daughter and family. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with Haysville Healthcare Center, a place that Alma truly called “home”. She was so very much loved by staff and residents and was so well taken care of.
