May 1, 1984 — April 19, 2022

Our beloved Alison Larie Sculley, 37, passed away at her father’s home, rural Douglas County, Kansas, on the morning of Tuesday, Apr 19, 2022.

Alison or “Ali” was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital, in Wichita, Kansas, May 1st , 1984, to Kim Larie and Ennis Sculley. Born with mild mental handicaps, she spent her life resolving to overcome them. Raised at different times in both parents homes with supportive close family and friends. Her love for her family was of utmost importance in Alison’s life.

Alison attended primary schools in Muscatine, Iowa, then graduating from Baldwin City High School, Baldwin City, Kansas in 2002. She subsequently received support services and developed vocational skills such as light assembly and packaging and community work from Cottonwood, Inc. in Lawrence, Kansas, for many years. Alison moved from Lawrence to Wichita in October 2020, receiving services by Res-Care of Wichita. Alison also took an active role in Special Olympics, participating in swimming, basketball, volleyball and track & field.

She loved her arts & crafts, and showered her family with artwork, seasonal cards, painted objects, and beaded items. It seems she always brought gifts when she came to visit. Music also captured her interest and usually had some of her favorite tunes at hand. Being a grown-up child herself, Alison had a special place in her heart for little children and small animals; shepherding and protecting them from harm. She truly enjoyed their company.

Predecessors include her maternal grandparents, Ross and Lois Hays, and paternal grandparents, Leonard and Bernie Sculley.

Survivors include her mother, Kim Grandon and husband, Tom, sisters RaeLynn Dial, Brandi Strickland, and Brittny Le; her father, Ennis Sculley and wife, Susan of Eudora, Kansas, numerous uncles, aunts and cousins who loved her and will miss her dearly.

Alison sleeps peacefully now, her struggles have come to an end. She has blessed many lives with her bright eyes, infectious laugh, and unfiltered love.
