Alfred Stephen Lindsay, 86, of Peck, KS, passed away peacefully Saturday August 30th, 2025 in his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born December 24, 1938 in Newkirk, Oklahoma to John and Mildred Lindsay.
Alfred attended a one room schoolhouse named Stony Point, until 8th grade and went on to graduate from Newkirk High School in 1957. He briefly attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, OK. In January of 1961 he was drafted by the Army and was stationed in Fort Carson, CO until 1963. While serving he met the love of his life, Anita Jensen, and got married December 22nd, 1962.
What he valued most in this world were his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. You would either find him in his workshop creating for his family or chasing kids around. He was an avid Oklahoma University Sooners fan and wore their colors proudly. He loved being outdoors and you would never find him sitting still.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Donald, Jean, and Opal, son-in-law Darren Kearns and granddaughter Lily Winzenried.
He is survived by Anita Lindsay, wife of 62 years, children Laurie (Brian) Winzenried of Derby, KS, Lisa Kearns of Augusta, KS, grandchildren Calen (Andrea) Kearns of Puyallup, WA, Kelsey (Eric) Wilson of Abilene, KS, Paul Winzenried of Fordland, MO and Sarah (Ethan) Sevedge of Bentonville, AR, great-grandchildren Lane and Brady Wilson of Abilene, KS, honorary grandchildren Gracie and Hunter Bishop of Udall, KS.
