A. Elaine Layton

A. Elaine Layton, 90, loving mother and grandmother, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born June 26, 1926 to William and Mary (Scovel) Ingmire in Tyro, KS. Elaine owned Derby Floral for over 50 years. She was a past president of the Greater Wichita Florists’ Association. She was a Derby Grand Marshall and a member of the Derby Chamber of Commerce. Elaine was a member of the Mulvane United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gerald, in 2009; and daughter, Sherrill Layton-Ast. Elaine is survived by her children, Steven Layton, Kris Dyche, and Dianna Moore-Geiger; sister, Charlotte Bitsko; 9 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. Visitation: Wednesday, 1 to 8 pm with family present between 5 and 7 pm at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby, KS. Funeral: 10 am, Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the Mulvane United Methodist Church, 107 S. Central Ave., Mulvane, KS. Interment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mulvane United Methodist Church.
