Victor S. Cox, age 97, retired Boeing and Cessna employee, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016. Visitation 1-8 Monday, August 29, with family greeting friends 5-7 PM, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Funeral service 2 PM Tuesday, August 30, Rose Hill Friends Church, 14062 SW 180th St, Rose Hill. Vic was a WWII US Army veteran who was honorably discharged at the rank of MSGT. He was very active in the his community. He is a former Mayor, City Clerk, City Councilman, and City Marshall of Rose Hill; and served as a voluntary fireman with Butler County Fire District #3. He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen; parents, Elvin & Lavina Cox; his daughter, Kathleen Lane; 3 brothers and 5 sisters. Survivors include is son, Stan Cox (Jan), of Leon; daughters, Barbara Schrag (Dave), of Rose Hill, and Beth McDonnell (Dick), of Verona, WI; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
