Velda Brown

Velda “Candy” (Beard) Brown, 76, retired Barnes and Noble clerk, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Memorial service: 10am, Monday, February 25, 2013, First Presbyterian Church, 525 N. Broadway. She is survived by her husband, Larry; son, Nathan Brown (Stacey) of San Jose, CA; daughters, Meagan Schmidt (Jeff) of Wichita, Amy Upchurch (Kyle) of Oklahoma City; brothers, Eldon Beard of Saginaw, TX, John Beard (Sheryl) of Culver City, CA; grandchildren, Allison and Samuel Schmidt, Matthew and Craig Brown, Gavin and Adrian Upchurch. She is preceded in death by her son, Daniel Brown and brother, Craig Beard. Memorial contributions to Alzheimer’s Association, Good Shepherd Hospice or First Presbyterian Church of Wichita. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at Caring Hearts for Senior Living for the care given to Velda.
