Obituary for Vivian Shaver

Vivian Shaver, 88, of Douglass, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at St. Francis Medical Center.

Vivian was born July 26, 1933 to Ola and Anna Mae Bair, in Arkansas City, Kansas. She graduated from Burden High School. On May 25, 1958, she married Gerald Dee Shaver in Burden, KS. They would have been married 64 years. The couple made their home in Douglass, KS, where she was a member of the Douglass United Methodist Church. Vivian was devoted to her family – family was always first.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents Ola and Anna Mae Bair, son Scott William Shaver, grandson Dustin Michael Blake, sisters Lenora Henderson, Oleta Shields, Eula Mae Martin, Beatrice Waymire, brothers Homer Bair, Orville Bair, Eugene Bair, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bill Henderson, Bill Shields, Ray Martin, Tom Waymire, Aileen Bair, and Richard Mackey. She is survived by her husband Gerald D. Shaver, son Greg (Carolyn) Shaver, daughter Deanna Blake, all of Augusta; grandson Troy Shaver; granddaughter Jamie (Austin) Sizemore, Molly (Rodney) Kirby; great-grandson Kade Sizemore; her sister Wanda Mackey; sisters-in-law Sarah Bair, Eleanor Bair, Norma Branine, Judy (Johnie) Howell; many nephews and nieces.

Visitation 6-8pm Wednesday, May 11, Smith Mortuary in Derby. Funeral Service 10am Thursday, May 12, Douglass (KS) United Methodist Church, followed by interment in the Douglass Cemetery. A memorial has been established with the church.
