Virgil Lee Plute July 20, 1930 - January 12, 2023. Virgil was a retired Wichita State University Electrical Foreman. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 12, 2023, in Wichita, KS at the age of 92.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, Martin L. Plute and Anita O'Brien Plute, stepmother Ruth Plute; infant sister Katherine Plute; Wife, Jessie E. Plute; daughter in law, Mona Plute; and one stepdaughter.

Survivors include son Anthony Plute of Wichita, KS, son Rodney and Nancy Plute of Owasso, OK, and daughter Anita Plute of Wichita, KS; Grandchildren Ryan and Lauren Plute of Nixa, MO, and Bobby and Melanie Mullins, of Kent, WA; great grandchildren, Kason, Colten, and Kayra Plute of Nixa, MO; 3 step grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren, and many friends at Reflection Ridge Retirement Community.

Visitation and viewing Thursday, January 26, 2023, 6-8 pm, Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 South Seneca, Wichita, KS. Memorial service Friday, January 27, 2023, at 10:00 am at Douglas Avenue Assembly of God, 4501 W. Douglas, Wichita, KS. Graveside service at Fairview Cemetery, 2602 Woodland Ave, Coffeyville, KS at 3 pm on Friday January 27, 2023. Family Visitation will follow Graveside service.
