Obituary for Vickie A Smith (Murrell)
Vickie Ann Smith, 71, of Mulvane, KS passed away on June 11, 2023 after battling dementia. Vickie was born January 22, 1952 to Lynell and Delores Murell in Hayti, MO. She grew up in Portageville, MO. She met Roger Smith, Sr. and married in 1969 in Portageville, MO. They moved and she graduated in Kanakee, Ill, in 1970. They moved to Wichita in 1970 when Roger, Sr. joined the Air Force. They moved to Mulvane, KS in 1977 where she made her home until her time of death.
She held several jobs over the years, she retired from FedEx after 17 years and worked part time at Dillards and later at Goodwill.
Vickie was preceded in death by her parents Lynell & Delores Murrell and her sister Cathy Murrell. She is survived by her son Roger Smith, Jr., daughters: Robin (Chad) Tharp and April (Jonathon) Guiterrez; 8 grandchildren; sister Judy (Tom) Lightle of Portland, Indiana.
Visitations Sunday June 18: 3-4pm for Roger, Jr his family & friends, and 5-6pm for Robin & April, their families & friends;
Funeral Service: Monday June 19 at 10:30am, both at Smith Mortuary- Mulvane; 501 SE Louis Dr., Mulvane, KS 67110.
Burial to follow at Littleton Cemetery southeast of Mulvane.
