Obituary for Velda R Luce
Velda R. Luce, 86, entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Saturday, October 8, 2022. She was born July 14, 1936, in Hutchinson, KS to Earl and Hazel Dewbre. She married her high school sweetheart in 1954.
She was a member of Westside Church of God for over 50 years. She was a Nurse Aide then she retired from Dillon's Bakery. Velda and her husband, John were winter Texans for many years, where she was a member of the Red Hat Society. They enjoyed camping and traveling. She was a four-time cancer survivor.
Visitation: Wednesday, October 12, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 S Seneca, Wichita. Graveside Service: 11:30 am, Thursday, October 13, 2022, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1806 N. Oliver, Wichita.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John Earl Luce; and two grandchildren.
Velda is survived by her husband of 68 years, John E. Luce; sons, Victor Luce (Linda) and Ronald Luce (Debbie); daughters, Janet Williams (Richard) and Carolyn Richards (David); 11 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren; brother, Milo Dewbre; sister, Henrietta Cox; 3 sisters-in-law, Alice, Bonnie, and Juanita.
