Obituary for Shirley Kezar

89, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2023. She was born at her family home, on February 9, 1934 to Leslie and Joyce (Newman) Roe in Cambridge, England.

As a child, Shirley and her family survived many challenges, including the Battle of Britain during WWII. Shirley left the U.K. and became a military bride. Shirley had a fulfilling career as a Social Worker for the Wichita School District.

Shirley was very active in her church St Andrews Episcopal Church. Shirley also was very talented and spent many hours working with ceramics, sewing and quilting. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their many activities.

Shirley is survived by brother, Richard Roe of the United Kingdom; son, Roger Kezar of Wichita; daughter, Catherine Clark (Bob) of Derby; grandchildren, James Bayless (Hannah), Alex Kezar, and Elizabeth Wilson Kezar (Hunter); 4 great grandchildren.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Robert Roe of the United Kingdom.

A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 1062 E Chet Smith Ave Derby, KS at 1:00pm on July 25th, 2023.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
