Obituary for Scott Anthony Coller

Scott Coller, 60, of Derby, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022, at his home.

He was born October 08, 1961 in Grand Rapids, Michigan as the son of Kenneth L. VanDerWarf and Ethelyn Lorena “Lori” VanDerWarf.

After graduating Greenville High School in 1979, Scott enlisted in the United States Airforce. During a stay in the Philippines he met and fell in love with Marelou Ramos, marrying her in 1983. Scott‘s 21 years of being in the Air Force showed his dedication, strong will, and perseverance, earning him the rank of Technical Sergeant and numerous awards. After he retired, his knowledge and experience allowed him to work up to being a Lead Avionic technician at Textron Aviation from 2000 to the present.

While Scott held great passion for music, movies (especially Top Gun), cooking, and eating what he and others cooked, bowling was a passion of his unlike anything else. Scott dedicated many days to coaching young bowlers early on, as well as spending time bowling for his own enjoyment later on in life at Derby Bowling Alley, The Alley, and Seneca Bowl.

He is survived by his wife Marelou; children, Scott Coller Jr., Ashley Coller; two grandchildren Korben Coller and Soran Coller; sister Carole (Richard) Whitney of Kentwood, sister Susan Couture of Greenville; and by his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
