Obituary for Robert Dean Urban

Robert Dean Urban, age 53, of Pratt, KS, passed away on February 15, 2024, in Pratt, Kansas.

Robert was born in West Plains, Missouri, on December 6, 1970, to Wynona Urban and Robert Urban. He attended Skyline High School and furthered his education at Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology. He pursued a career at ADM and Cox Communications.

Robert (some knew him as Bob, Bobby) was known for being intelligent, stubborn, and hardworking. He was the ultimate 'Do-It-Yourselfer,’ skilled in mechanics, woodworking, remodeling, and so much more. In his free time, he was always helping friends and family with projects, anything from house remodels to refurbishing or building furniture pieces. He loved learning about everything and was always researching random topics, passing on his knowledge to family and friends. He loved riding his motorcycle, often riding out of town for a breakfast run or long distance to Sturgis. He found joy in these hobbies and dedicated his time to perfecting his craft.

Robert leaves behind a loving family who will miss his stubborn debates and intelligent quips: his daughters, Nicole (Brandon) Broce and Amanda Urban, his favorite child Luther (dog); his mother Wynona Urban (John Keller); sister Dawn (Vince) Epp; brother Joseph Urban; his grandchildren Emmett Broce, Ellie Broce, Jacob Hale, and Oliver Urban; and many nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert Urban.

A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 1:00 PM. The service will be arranged by Smith Family Mortuaries of Derby, KS.

A memorial is established for Lemon Park Lights in Pratt.

Robert will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
