Obituary for Peggy J. Sumner

DeBuhr-Sumner, Peggy Jean (Moore)
age 80 years and 9 months, passed away at home on Sunday, July 12, 2020. Peggy was born at the home of her parents, Charles and Alma Moore in Douglass, Kansas on Friday, October 13, 1939 and raised in Winfield, Kansas. She married Gary DeBuhr in 1958 and in 1985 she was married to Donald K. Sumner. Peggy was formerly a Cosmetologist and later employed by Cessna Aircraft Company. Of her many interests, Peggy had a passion for gardening and especially flowering plants. She was gifted with the ability to nurture even the weakest of plants to survival. No matter where she lived you would always find a delightful assortment of colorful flowers in the garden and on the patio. Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all those who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Donald K. Sumner; four children of her first marriage, Julie, Sheri, Bryan, and Kelli DeBuhr; grandchildren, Erik (Tiffany) Dorsey, Taryn (Brent) Schademan, Devin, Bryson, and Ryan DeBuhr; and four great-grandchildren, Evan Dorsey, Vivian, Brielle, and Cole Schademan. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister and her beloved great-grandmother. A private service will be held.
