Paul Frank Schueneman, age 90 of Udall, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at the Glen Carr House in Derby, Kansas.
Paul was born on December 11, 1930, the only child of Walter and Avelia Schueneman. His early childhood was spent on a farm in Wichita Ks. until World War II expansion of the aviation industry, in the early 1940’s, forced the Schueneman family to relocate to the site of their current farm east of Udall. Paul attended Udall High School and graduated in 1949.
Paul and Madge Madeline (Cole) were married on September 29, 1950 and began a marriage that would span 69 years. Paul, Madge and their son Donnie operated a family farm and dairy near Udall for seven decades. He started out selling milk in cans to a facility in Arkansas City, then got a pipeline and a bulk tank and was able to move from cans to the bulk market with American Milk Producers Inc. In addition to the farm and dairy, Paul worked for Hershey Ready Mix Inc., as a truck driver. Paul was an outstanding mechanic and his services were often sought by friends and neighbors when they needed assistance or advice regarding the repair of nearly any piece of farm equipment or engine. He was a long time member of the Udall United Methodist Church where he was a trustee, and also involved in the Udall community.
Paul is survived by one son, Donald Karl Schueneman, three brothers-in-law, Leroy Cole and wife Jeanett of Wellington, Kansas, Jerry Cole and wife Carol of Belle Plaine, Kansas, and David Cole of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Madge, father Walter, mother Avelia, brother Walter, and one son, Frank G. Schueneman.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 8 at Smith Mortuary in Derby, Kansas, with Pastor Jason Velotta officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, May 7, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. Burial will be in the El Paso Cemetery, Derby, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to the Cowley County Fire District #4 or the Udall United Methodist Church. Contributions may be left in care of Smith Mortuary.
