Mildred 'Micki' Kimbrel, 74, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022, at 9:21 pm from Alzheimer's. She was born April 23, 1947, to Dortha (Neal) and Frankie Foust in Chickasha, OK. She lived a full and happy life with her husband, children, and many grandchildren in their family home in Wichita, Kansas. Micki was passionate about her love for Jesus and her beloved church. She, along with her family, attended service every Sunday, all the way up until she was too frail to attend.
In her 40’s, Micki decided to further her education by attending Butler County Community College, obtaining her Associates Degree. She then continued in 1995, at Wichita Area Vocational Technical School and received her diploma from the Medical Laboratory Technician Certificate Program. Micki retired from Boeing after 20+ years, having worked her way up from 'Rosie the Riveter' to full blown plane inspector.
Micki is survived by her husband of 38 years, Claude 'Mel' Kimbrel, siblings; Janet Foust and Linda Jarvis; children; Billinda Shook, Darryl (Kelly) McLaughlin, and Kymberly Peacock; step-daughter, Debra Kimbrel; step-son, Micheal Kimbrel (Sandra); lifetime friends; Becky Burris and Sheila Crow; Grandchildren; Natasha (Josh) Fredlund, Tiffany Berry, Abbie (Jordan) Cook, Kayla (Frankey) Peacock, Amanda (Jeremy) Honor, and Omari Walker; Great-Grandchildren; Zoey, Lucas, Alivia, Hunter, Ziler, Riddick, Mya, Jaxon, Antonio, Elijah, Zaidan, and Jazlynne; several nephews; and one niece. She was preceded in death by by parents Frankie “Roy” and Dortha, Brother Leroy, Nephew Christopher, Son-in-Law Scott, and step-daughter Vickie Brooks.
The public viewing will take place Monday, April 11th, 2022, from 6pm-8pm at Smith Family Mortuaries - 1415 North Rock Rd, Derby, KS.
