Cheri and I are so saddened with the loss of Mike. Most of the Beechcraft folks at Missiles including myself called him Mikey. I suppose given his innocent looking smile and chuckle and youthful manner the name “Mikey” just fit him well. His smile and chuckle/laugh and regular “Hey” in the morning could always bring light and joy to many situations.

Mikey had a great sense of humor and Cheri fondly recalls many including the surprise discovery of a big hairy black spider hanging from his web (fishing line) right above her desk. Mikey strung the line up through the ceiling from his desk to above Cheri’s desk at the opposite end of the room. He lowered it at the most opportune moment giving her quite the jolt. The entire room enjoyed it!!!

He was totally reliable in his work, creative in his very many designs and drawings, dependable in being there every day, honest in any information or opinions he shared and humble in his manner working only for the good of our efforts. I would gladly have taken 20 Mikeys on any of our many programs and projects but God only blessed us with the one and only Mike and I feel fortunate to have known worked with him for many years. Our heartfelt prayers and condolences go out to you and all the family.

Mike was such a great guy to work with in Missiles at Beech Aircraft. He was always so nice and fun to be around. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sabrina and her family. Dan and Camey Moore

Leland Johnson

Mike (or Mikey as we called him) was another one of those special people who did something the group needed and appreciated. Perhaps the biggest disappointment during his career was grumpy Raytheon killing our several sports pots he ran for years. Missiles was a special place for a long time. Mikey was part of the magic that made it special.
