51, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022. He was born October 11, 1971 to Robert B. and Lonnie Bonnes in Wichita, Kansas.
Prior to graduating from Derby Sr High, his first job was working at The Big Tool Store for several years. He was currently with Boeing for 25+ years and was Government Property Manager. He supported the Air Force One Program throughout his career.
In 2003, he married Angela Barton and went on to have two children, Blake and Benjamin. In 2016 they divorced.
Matthew took great pride in working on his vehicles and dirt bikes. He enjoyed motor cross, camping, canoeing, grilling and watching college football however, his favorite of all was guns and hunting. In recent years he and his boys developed an interest in fishing. Matt loved spending time with his family and friends. Matt was the type of guy who would stop and help out anyone in need. He was a great friend, caring son, father and brother. Most important was his faith in his Savior Jesus Christ.
Matthew is survived by his children, Blake M. Bonnes and Benjamin R. Bonnes; parents, Robert B. and Lonnie Bonnes; siblings, Misti Bonnes.
Visitation: Monday, November 21, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Smith Family Mortuary 1415 North Rock Road Derby, Kansas 67037. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm, Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church 600 N. Greenwich Road Wichita, Kansas 67206.
