Obituary for Mary Sue Ward

Mary “Sue” Ward, 88, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 4th, 2023 at her home in Wichita.

She was a loving mother, mother in law and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her true calling, as she often said, was to be a grandmother.

She loved and devoted much of her life to her four grandsons (and their significant others), fostering lasting and exceptionally close relationships with them all. Each and every one of them loved their Grandmother Sue so much and would do anything for her, and she them. Our lives will never be the same without her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Ward, Sr., her parents, two sisters and her nephew, Larry Willeford.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Ward, her son, John E. Ward, Jr. MD (Patti), her daughter, Charlotte J. Whitney (Robert) and her grandsons, Hunter J. Ward, Austin W. Whitney (Kristin), Derek L. Whitney (Erica) and Casey G. Whitney (Tiffanie) and one great grandchild, Aubrianne M. Whitney.

At her request, there will be no services in Kansas, only a graveside service in Burnet, Texas for immediate family.
