Obituary for Mary Jean McDonald

Rose Hill, KS - McDonald, Mary Jean
70, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024. She was born August 28, 1953 to Robert Sr and Ramona Starr in Sterling, Colorado.

Mary worked many types of jobs from flower delivery to assembly work over the years. Ultimately she was a home maker a good part of her life. She was Mom and Mimi to most, and Aunt Mary. She was the glue that held everything and everyone together. She enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, loved plants and flowers, she especially loved animals, she loved the mountains and enjoyed traveling back to Colorado every chance she had until she couldn't go anymore. She passed her time working on diamond art pictures, crossword search puzzles, snuggling with her dogs, and most of all enjoyed playing bingo often with her friends and sometimes family. She enjoyed family get togethers and dinners because it meant she would see most of the immediate family in one place. Family was so important to her. Mary had the biggest heart. She cared and loved so much for everyone. She would do anything she could for anyone who was in need. She would even help without being asked, it was just in her nature. Over the years Mary helped raise many of her nieces and nephews as her own children and was mom to some who just needed her to be. She never stopped being there for them. She was always an amazing caregiver for those she loved. She will be dearly missed by all, her love will go on in our hearts and memories.

She was preceded in death by her son, Curtis McDonald; parents; and siblings, Wanda Starr, Milton Starr, Mona Babbitt, Christina Starr.

Mary is survived by her husband of 53 years, H. Wayne McDonald; daughters, Sherri (Brian) Barnes and Jennifer (Drew) Agnew; grandchildren, Vanessa McDonald, Kayla McDonald, Keith McDonald, Devin Thompson, Raeanna Barnes, Raeah Barnes; 15 great grandchildren; siblings, Esther Rumpf, Robert Starr, Jr., Rose (Doug) Lightcap, and numerous nieces and nephews.
