Obituary for Mary Bartlett Gourlay
Mary Bartlett Gourlay, 91, passed from this life on March 25, 2024 in Wichita. Born in Wellington, KS on November 15, 1932, the daughter of Glenn C. Bartlett and Margaret Meyers Bartlett.
She married Robert Gourlay on Aug. 8, 1953 at McConnell Air Force Base Catholic Chapel, Wichita, KS. She was the proprietor of the Bartlett Arboretum until 1997.
Preceded in death by her parents, her sister Glenna Bartlett, her husband Robert Gourlay, grandson Anthony James Gourlay, and son-in-law Don McVay.
She is survived by sons, Stephen (Treva) Gourlay of Clayton, CA, Tony Gourlay of Edmond, OK, Michael (Shelly) Gourlay of Portland, OR and daughters Leslie McVay of Edmond, OK, and Margaret (Kris) Langley of Derby, KS; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation 5-7pm Friday March 29 at Smith Mortuary in Derby. Funeral service 2pm Saturday, March 30 at the Bartlett Arboretum in Belle Plaine, followed by interment in the Belle Plaine Cemetery. A memorial has been established with the Bartlett Arboretum Society.
