Marjorie Hinds was born March 16, 1925 in Watts, Oklahoma, the daughter of William Albert and Cleo Etta (Bouyear) Walden. The family moved to the Eureka Springs area in Arkansas. After high school, Marjorie went to further her education in Joplin, Missouri. She then went to work for the telephone company. Later she met J.C. Hinds and they were married in Eureka Springs on December 21, 1946. In 1950 they applied for employment at Boeing Aircraft Company. They moved to Wichita and both worked at Boeing. They began attending Seneca Assembly of God. J.C. and Marjorie gave their hearts fully to the Lord and began to serve Him with enthusiasm. They had two children, Montez and Lyndal.

God called J.C. to be a minister of the gospel and in 1956 they began pioneering a church in Mulvane. On June 10, 1956, First Assembly of God had its first service. The family moved to Mulvane and Marjorie began working in the church getting to know families in the area. She taught Sunday School and children's church and spent time in prayer and Bible study. She liked to cook and was known for her homemade pies and cinnamon rolls. She drove a school bus for a few years and became a CMA at a nearby nursing home, the Villa Maria. She worked there for 28 years. She liked playing games, playing the piano and singing, and cats.

After retiring, she and her husband traveled some in their RV, but his health deteriorated until that was no longer possible. Marjorie took good care of him for several years. She still continued in prayer for the church and her friends and family.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Reverend J.C. Hinds; her parents William and Cleo (Bouyear) Walden; sister, Oletta Keck; brother, Glen Walden.

Survivors include: her children Montez (Joe) Smith and Lyndal (Deb) Hinds, all of Mulvane; five grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
