Obituary for Madge Madeline Schueneman

Madge Madeline(Cole) Schueneman, age 87 of Udall, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Glen Carr House in Derby, Kansas.

She was born on February 20, 1932 in Arkansas, the daughter of George and Myrtle (Bullinger) Cole. She graduated from Udall High School in 1949 and went on to pursue a teaching degree.

Madge married Paul Frank Schueneman on September 29, 1950 and began a marriage that would last 69 years. Madge was a homemaker and farm wife, pitching in wherever necessary to support the farming and dairy operations as well as managing the household. Madge kept the home fires burning while Paul and Donnie tended to the farm. Visitors to the farm were always greeted with an unforgettable smile and Madge’s beautiful blue eyes. She was a long time member of the Udall United Methodist Church and the Udall community.

In addition to her husband, Madge is survived by one son, Donald Karl Schueneman, three brothers, Leroy and wife, Jeanett of Wellington, Kansas, Jerry and wife Carol of Belle Plaine, Kansas, and David of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother and one son, Frank G. Schueneman.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the Smith Mortuary with Pastor Jon Shellenberger officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, February 7, from 5:00 until 8:00 pm. Burial will be in the El Paso Cemetery, Derby Kansas

In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to the Cowley County Fire District #4 or the Udall United Methodist Church. Contributions may be left in care of the Smith Mortuary.
