Obituary for Linda Sue Boivin

Linda Boivin of Andover, age 73, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on January 21, 2024. She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Steven G. Boivin, sister Mary Alice Bratton, brothers Jim Woods and Ronald Woods. Survived by other siblings Dorothy Bratton of Arkansas, Jerry Woods, and Johnny Woods. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lyn (Boivin) Bissell of Mulvane, son-in-law Kameron Bissell, and her grandchildren: Christopher Steven Boivin and wife Rachel Boivin of Rose Hill, KS, Gauge Merc Ray Harness, Logan Harness, and Sophia Harness of Mulvane, KS.

Linda Sue Woods was born in Blytheville, Arkansas, on February 23rd, 1950, to ML and Mary Madeline Woods. Linda grew up in a house full of siblings, and being the youngest little girl, her sisters lovingly referred to her as their baby. Linda's life journey took her across various states in the U.S., from her native Arkansas to Illinois, California, and Connecticut, enriching each place with her presence she finally moved to Wichita with her older brother, James (Jim) Woods. While in Wichita, she made some good friends, one of whom she would drag Douglas with. Linda's heart found its forever home nearly 50 years ago when she married Steven Boivin, the love of her life and her unwavering companion. Together, they navigated life's highs and lows, their bond exemplifying true partnership and mutual devotion. Even after Steven's passing seven years ago, the legacy of their love continued to flourish in the family they nurtured.

Professionally, Linda dedicated her life to the service of others, particularly as a Paraeducator for disabled children within USD 259. Her career was not just a job but a testament to her profound compassion and unwavering commitment to helping those in need. She was a devout follower of Christ, living her life as a reflection of His teachings, radiating kindness, and inspiring others to embrace faith and love.




Steve and Linda were happily married on July 11, 1970, and welcomed their only child, a daughter, in October of 1975. Mary Lyn (Boivin) Bissell age 48. Steve and Linda lived an amazing life traveling, boating, and making memories for 46 years. They enjoyed their 1931 Model A sedan and 1929 Model A Pick-Up truck with the other Model A members. Everyone who knew them said they were the perfect match. Linda was best known for loving and trusting God, showing kindness to everyone she met, She also sold Mary Kay Cosmetics, where she made lifelong friends, won free cars, and gave women confidence. She always would say, "Don't forget your lipstick! It's the bow on the present you just wrapped!" Years later, Linda would have 4 grandchildren. As a mother and grandmother, Linda was nothing short of extraordinary. Her daughter, Mary Lyn, and grandchildren, Christopher, Gauge, Logan, and Sophia, were the lights of her life. Linda was tenacious in ensuring their wellbeing, always there with a warm embrace, sage advice, or a story to share. She was the epitome of what makes parents and grandparents remarkable - steadfast in her ideals, yet always ensuring her family felt comfortable, safe, and above all, loved. She made it to every football, baseball, and basketball game that she could. She wiped tears and kissed boo-boos. To know Linda was a blessing. She fought hard over the last year. She's a warrior. Right now, she's home with her "Babe". They are together now forever, in Heaven with our loving father. Linda's love extended beyond the confines of her family. Her compassion knew no bounds, and she was a beacon of hope and love to all who knew her. Her spirit, characterized by resilience and unwavering faith, will continue to guide and inspire her loved ones. Though we mourn the loss of such a beautiful soul, we also celebrate a life lived with purpose, love, and an unshakeable belief in the goodness of humanity. Linda's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Linda Boivin will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her life was a beautiful testament to the power of love, faith, and family.

Public visitation for Linda will be held at Smith Mortuary Derby, 1415 N. Rock Rd, 67037 on Thursday, January 26th, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral service at Smith Derby mortuary on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 10:30 a.m.
