92, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022. She was born March 8, 1930 to Sylvan and Lucille Travis in Stella, Missouri.
Gerry was extremely talented when it came to working with numbers. She spent most of her career working in the field of banking. She also worked at Cessna, the YWCA and eventually retired from Wichita State University. She loved being a part of her Sunday school group at First United Methodist Church in Wichita where she was often in charge of uplifting scripture and readings to start their classes. She later transferred her membership to Woodlawn United Methodist in Derby and became a member of one of their Women’s circles. She was an avid member of the Republican party and was very proud to have campaigned hard to pass the Right to Work bill in Kansas. Her favorite activities involved anything with family, dancing and playing cards and games with family and friends. She looked forward to weekly card games at the Derby Senior Center and Derby Assisted Living. Her family and friends were always at the forefront of her actions and deeds. She understood the true meaning of kindness and helped spread it everywhere she went.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard King; parents, Sylvan and Lucille Travis; brother, Donald Travis.
Gerry is survived by her son, William (Consuelo) Luznicky; daughter, Cathy (Ken) Boote; grandchildren, Christie (Daniel) Kipp and Courtney Moore; great-grandchildren, Nora, Luci, Cate Kipp, and Sloane Moore.
