Obituary for Larry Curry

Larry N. Curry, 83, of Wichita, KS, went home to be with the Lord on December 17, 2020. Larry was born September 12, 1937 in Orange County, California. Preceded in death by his parents, E. W. and Lonnie Curry and his first wife of 53 years, Katherine (Meaghers) Curry. Larry is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Curry; daughter, Tracey (Michael) Sanchez of Haysville, KS; sister, Marilynn Mason of McKinney, TX; sister-in-law, Lee Ann Mathews, Derby, KS; granddaughter Taylor Sanchez of Dallas, TX; grandson, Anthony (Melissa) Sanchez and grandchildren, Alexis, Ali and Jacob Sanchez, all of Haysville, KS; As well as niece, Jana (Bob) Baucum; nephews, Mike (Gail) Haley, Kelly (Cynthia) Haley and Cary (Debra) Stephens; and host of great-nieces and great-nephews who loved him dearly.

Larry is also survived by his bonus family, step-daughters, Tammy (Mike) Branscum of Haven, KS; Shelly (Glenn) Cranfield of Nashville, TN; 10 step-grandchildren, and 17 step-great-grandchildren; as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation and celebration of his life will be held Monday, December 21, 2020, at First Baptist Church, 125 S. Delos, Haysville, KS. (Masks Required) Visitation with family at 9:00 am, followed by Celebration Service at 10:00 am, with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 6231 W 47th St S. Wichita, KS. In Lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in honor of Larry Curry may be made to First Baptist Church - Haysville, KS.

Larry was most known for his love of the Lord, love for family and friends, love of adventure and his world famous greeting, “How Do?!” He was beloved by many and never met a stranger. May his joyful heart, fun loving spirit and love for others inspire us.
