Joyce Wright, 92, left this earth to be present with her Lord and Savior Monday, July 4th, 2022. She was born November 10th, 1929 to loving parents, Joe and Mae Basl in Petersburg, Virginia. Joyce was married 50 years to her beloved husband, Rev. G. Allen Wright, and faithfully served many years as a pastor's wife. In her later years, she considered it a great blessing to teach Sunday School at Lincoln Baptist Church and assist at Lincoln Baptist Academy. She remained a dedicated prayer wa rrior until the day of her passing. Joyce's Virginia roots remained strong throughout her life and she epitomized the grace of a Southern Lady. A lover of history, music (especially hymns), reading and writing, she was a wordsmith extraordinaire. Researching topics of interest was a favorite activity. As her pastor remarked, "Mrs. Wright was Google before Google even existed." She leaves behind her daughters Sherry (Walter) Hoover and Susan (David) Denton, grandchildren James, Jeff, Joel, Beth and Matt, seven great-grandchildren, and loving members of Lincoln Baptist Church.Viewing: Friday, July 8th, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with family receiving 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary 115 South Seneca Wichita, Kansas 67213.
