Wichita - Smith, Johnny "Peanut" Ray, II
Passed away in his home on Thursday May 18, 2023. He was born in Wichita, Kansas on February 19, 1963 to John and Jean Smith. He grew up in Haysville, Kansas and attended Campus High School.
He started working in Apartment maintenance in Wichita before moving to Austin where he began his work in appliance repair. He moved back to Wichita in 1989 and worked for his brother at Appliance Doctor, until 1993 when he moved to Rogers, Arkansas where he started his own successful business, Appliance Medic.
Peanut loved being on the water in a drag boat or on water skis. He loved being with his family and friends always keeping them laughing. He was never without a joke or something funny to say. He was always there willing to help those who ever needed it. And we can't forget his love for German Shepherds. He had several through the years that he loved and cared for. Above all, he was most proud of his three children.
Johnny is preceded in death by his father, John Smith, in 2012; mother, Jean Smith, in 2015; sister, Tammi Rico, in 2006; and brother, John Conway, in 2014. He is survived by his son, Keith (Ann) Doke, of Arkansas; daughter, Brittany (Darrick) Loos, of Arkansas; son, Trey Smith, of Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan and Ava Doke, Angelina, Dane, and Sierra Loos, and Gabrial Rivas-Smith; two brothers, Terry Conway, of Wichita, and Jack Conway, of Texas; and countless nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-7pm on Wednesday May 24, 2023. Funeral Service: 3pm on Thursday May 25, 2023, both will be held at Smith Family Mortuary, 7031 S. Broadway, Haysville, Kansas 67060.
