Obituary for Joe J. Stevens

Eastborough - Stevens, Joe J.
86, passed away Sunday, January 29th, 2023. He was born April 26th, 1936 to Joe Stevens and Eugenie Malouf Stevens in Wichita, Kansas.

A passionate handball player who loved the bantering during doubles play possibly more than the thrill of victory. His favorite method of decompression was summer trips to his beloved Bluewater lake in Northern Minnesota. The other passion which he successfully turned into his profession was the art of magic. At the age of 8 years his father dropped him off at the Orpheum to watch The Great Blackstone. He was called up on stage at that show and wasn't aware at that time the impression that day would have on his life. He went on to achieve world-wide recognition for his contributions in the art.

He was preceded in death by his Grandparents Joe & Humdumie, Parents: Stevens Joe and Eugenie Stevens, Wife: Martha McMillin Stevens and by Brother, Gene Stevens.

Joe is survived by his Children, Amy Jo Stevens & Barry Gordemer, Mark M. Stevens & Cilene Alves Stevens; siblings, Sandi Barrese, Judy Sayfie; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
