Derby- Gaulin, Joanne Marie 88, Passed to heaven, Friday April 7, 2023.
She was born November 1, 1934, to Joseph and Catherine Consigli in Milford, Massachusetts.
Joanne graduated from Medway High School. She worked in Boston at John Hancock Insurance, but got tired of the drive and changed jobs for Golden Meadow Ice cream in Medway. She married at 21 to Philip Gaulin of Hopedale, Mass. who was in the Air Force. They were transferred to Boise, Idaho, and continued getting transferred during his 21- year career in the service. They had 5 children, all born in different states, except Cathy & Mark who were both born in Indiana.
Nana was well known to all for her excellent Italian cooking. She even wrote a cookbook for the family with her recipes and some from family & friends. Everyone loved her red sauce recipe. For the holidays she would make handmade pasta and taught the grandchildren how to make it.
She loved crafting with daughter Cathy, traveling to OK to visit Karen, and loved going to yearly dance recitals with Raeann’s Fancy Footworks studio. She also loved hanging out with Debi and her doggie Sammy, visiting with the grandkids, and having everyone over to swim and cookout.
Her dream was to return to Massachusetts, which will happen as Joanne and Phil will be buried there in family plots.
Joanne is survived by her daughters, Karen “Gaulin” Mcneely of Edmond, OK, Debi “Gaulin” (Pete) Kaufman of Derby, Cathy “Gaulin” (Russell) Mcleod of Wichita; sons, Mark Gaulin, (Raeann) of Derby, and Robert Gaulin of Derby; Sisters Nancy Rojee of Medway, Mass, Kathleen Burke of Sandwich, Mass., and Joe Consigli of Mashpee, Mass.; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; and 10 step great grandchildren.
